I took a long hiatus from blogging and now I’m back!  I find that making a card is such great therapy for me – it allows my mind the freedom to be as creative or as simple as I want to be that moment in time.  I do spend time browsing Pinterest which can really eat up alot of my spare time BUT it is also a great site to get awesome ideas.  I made some different handmade gifts from Christmas this year – just from ideas I found there.  AND now back to cards – again I was browsing Pinterest and saw this card and thought I can do this.

I took the design created by Kalyn and tried a different colour combination and I used the “thanks” die from Simon Says Stamp.  I totally love the handwriting style of this die.  I originally made the card to be a 5×7 but ended up trimming the edges to fit the space of the circles.

Paper: SU - Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific
Point, Green Galore and green from Michaels
Accessories: Simon Says Stamp-thanks die; 3/4" circle punch

Cuttlebug-in’ the Background

I needed to make some thank you cards and I came across this really pretty card posted by Natasha Trupp …. in fact, I loved it so much I decided to use the same layout design and just switch up the colours and stamps.  The layout is simple and so fun to make.  You can make your own background circle using stamps or even using designer paper.  For this card, I decided to use a stamp set from Verve Stamps and also the Mesh cuttlebug folder.  I did not have any buttons that would work this colour combination, so I used some Kaiser Craft Pearls to add that extra element to the sentiment.  Hope you like it.

Thank You

Tis the time to send out my thank-you …

Now that Christmas has come and gone, it is definitely time to send out some thank-you cards.  It is amazing how thoughtful your friends and neighbours are in this busy season.  We are new to our neighbourhood and we received some awesome goody baskets from our neighbours, whom we are now calling our bestest friends …. wine and baking is near and dear to our hearts.

Hope everyone has a fantastic 2011.

Thank You to the Stars

I read somewhere on a fellow stamper’s blog that the best form of flattery is to have someone copy your creation.  I agree because that is where I get most of my cards from – is someone else’s idea.  I do try to change it up somehow, but not always, because sometimes it is perfect just the way they created it.  Why mess with perfection?

This card was cased from Shannan Teubner here.  She has such an awesome blog that I love to read (even though she has taken some time off from blogging) – she creates such awesome cards using Stamping Bella stamps.  Even though this card did not used the Bella line – I thought it was perfect for a thank you card.  So if you look at her original creation – really all I changed was the sentiment and a little change to the colour scheme.  Thanks to Shannan for sharing this idea.
